The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble

“We’re coming to bring back music to the organic feeling, organic style. Everything is so synthesized and electronic nowadays. Hyptonic is a band that is free of any electricity, any amps. We could set up in a black out, in a boat, plane, wherever.”

I feel what he is saying so deep. Can we make this more of a movement???? The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble is the type of music I could go through my whole life listening to.

“We try to write a song that everyone will listen to, cus in the end it’s all music… mix it all up into one bowl, and put it across to the people… We want to touch those people who don’t want to be touched, and that’s why we call ourselves hypnotic- we get into your mind.”
Word. They speak the truth.

Eminem – Beautiful

I like this song and this video a lot. I’ve always appreciated Eminem’s serious side. This is the 3rd official single from his album Relapse. It samples “Reaching Out,” originally written by Rock Therapy (catch the video after the jump). Em began writing the track while he was in rehab and then finished it off when he was sober. This would explain the change in mood in the lyrics, from a state of depression to one of motivation.

20091024-WEEZER

Now this made my day. I don’t know how the game is changing like this, but I like it. Weezer has always been a classic favorite of mine. And as a fan of ALL different genres, I appreciate a good mixing of sounds. I realize Wayne is making an attempt to break barriers, and I must say, he is doing just that. True, he’s not the first to make this attempt, (Chester French comes to mind), but it’s a big step for the rap game in my opinion. The track is produced by Polow Da Don and Jermaine Dupri.

*** WARNING: 1. If you are not a Weezer fan, go put your head in a hole you might not love the track. 2. Wayne is less than memorable, to say the least, on his verse(?). Might as well have just put his name on the track and called it a day…. But I give it the thumbs up nonetheless.

I’m a big fan of The Noisettes. I saw them in concert while I was in London this summer. Coincidentally, I shared a plane ride back to Boston with the group, and the petite Shingai rolled out into the Arrivals area, sprawled across her luggage cart… what an entrance.

Take a peak at this mash up mixtape courtesy of Mick Boogie & Terry Urban. Combining the British indie rock trio’s ‘Wild Houng Hearts’ with Kanye’s ’808s and Heartbreak’.
