Lissie’s Pursuit of Happiness
Damn…. I love it. This is the first I’ve heard of this Illinois native folk rocker, Lissie. She released her debut EP, “Why You Runnin“, in November 2009. Her debut album, Catching a Tiger, was released just yesterday in the UK. The release date for the US is still unclear, but word is that it will hit late August.
Here’s one of her originals… I wasn’t crazy about the first two I heard, but I kept digging and found this one. It’s called “Everywhere I Go.” Tell me what you think…

I’m in love… all over again. There’s something about this guy that soothes me no matter what kind of day I’ve had. If you are not familiar with William Fitzsimmons…. there’s no time like the present. The Pittsburgh native is amazingly talented. Artists I admire have a tendency to take Pop songs I hate and rebirth them into something beautiful. Well William did just that with Kat Perry’s I Kissed A Girl on his latest album, Derivatives (buy it on iTunes).
