Rise Above the Hate
I don’t really care much for Celebrity gossip and “who’s dating who,” but I recently saw this post that Angela Simmons wrote on Global Grind about people disapproving of her latest boyfriend. The Pastry girl has been dating Oscar Salinas, also known as “Skillz” from the Dallas-based duo, Play and Skillz. In the post, she writes,
“I wish everyone could benefit from the beauty that can come from experiences that happen outside of your own comfort zone… You can learn so much from a person you never thought you’d talk to or have something in common with… Sometimes society makes it hard for us to be comfortable enough in our own skin to embrace others who are different.”
I think we all try to stay in our comfort zone in one way or another, but it’s when we challenge ourselves to break out of it that we really start to grow. While Angela’s shoe collection may not exactly speak to me, this post does. I agree on her point here and commend her for speaking up about her relationship.
