In The Kitchen
So I just got back from buying a repair piece for my Hookah baby at a little bodega in Allston, which will be the first of many trips for me I’m sure. We made friends with the Lebanese owner, and he hooked me up with some good ingredients. So I came home and made some fresh baba ganoush and hummus. YUM. If you’re not familiar with Middle Eastern foods, it involves a lot of garlic, lemon juice and lamb! I’ll have to compare this recipe with my Sitto’s, but she looks like she dose a pretty good job! Kibbeh Nayeh is one of my favorite Lebanese dishes. It’s grown on me, seeing as how it’s raw meet, but believe me, it’s delicious!
Seeing as how I have a kitchen now, and I can’t get my Sitto’s food whenever I like… harram (which means shame), I’m going to start to do some exploring in the Lebanese kitchen. My Sitto already taught me how to make Baklavah (or bitleweh in Lebanese). This will be my first solo exploration mission. Wish me luck!
